Upon entering HappyLand your child is told by one of us, what we expect. These are the basic rules we give your child to follow and we explain to YOU what you can expect from your visit: To the children we: provide a sanitizing hand wipe and ask you or them to clean their hands; ask them to remove their shoes and place them neatly in the designated shoe area; then we go over the rules: "Absolutely no running...Use quiet, "indoor" voices, DO NOT TOUCH the admission gate and please tidy as you play." (An important part of play is the clean up process and though we expect your child to be carefree, we'd like them to keep the toys and costumes in the proper houses to encourage creative play and minimize disorder and confusion among the various toys.)
We then have the parents sign in, pay admission, and we remind you that this facility is childproofed and safe. We encourage the adults to sit and relax in our comfortabe seating area, and we assure you that the admission gate that leads to the front door and parking lot will be closed and locked and supervised at all times.
Other rules for the adults: No outside food, no children with gum, please help us enforce the children's rules and monitor your child's behavior. Soiled diapers MUST be changed at once. Some parents are relaxed about this issue and (believe it or not) have their child sit in their own feces due to a relaxed parenting style or for whatever reason. This is absolutely not tolerable in our facility because cleanliness and sanitation is our #1 priority along with safety. We reserve the right to refuse our service to those who refuse to change a stinky diaper! You think we're kidding, but this has actually happened! The Texas Dept. of Health and Safety has approved our faciliy for cleanliness and safety, and for our valuable customers and precious children we want to keep it that way!
We expect our adult guests to enjoy our indoor play facility and we expect our little guests to use appropriate behavior and a general respectful attitude. We've been so fortunate in the past; once we set our expectations, children are awesome about following the rules!
